Medela is proud to be a Corporate Member of the WOCN^® Society

We asked wound, ostomy, and continence nurses (WOC Nurses) from across the country to share their stories at local affiliate conferences and the WOCNext Conference in 2021. Medela’s collaboration with the WOC Nurse community is an effort to raise money, increase awareness, and support nurses interested in entering this unique field of healthcare. For every story that was shared, Medela made a donation to Fund the Future or a local scholarship fund. 

Among others, Collen Spiller, Joyce Pittman, and Melissa Mayes are experts in the field and came on camera to share advice to future WOC Nurses.

Here's what we accomplished together in 2021

• Supported the WOC for Wellness Challenge - Over 80 Million Steps!
• Filmed stories, advice, and inspiration of 50+ WOC Nurses
• Raised $10,000 for Fund the Future
• Raised $1,500 for the SER WOCN Dorothy Doughty Education Fund (WOCNEP Scholarship)
• Raised $2,000 for the New England Region of WOCN Society Annual Scholarship
• Supported the emPOWERment center and emPOWERed webinars
• Celebrated all the WOC Nurses that SHINE BRIGHT during WOC Nurse Week 2021
• Connected over Wild Wound Stories at WOCNext 2021 (Listen to Dr. Katherine Jeter's story Genesis of NPWT Halloween 1985)
